Karl Nieberlein
Karl Nieberlein, a Baltimore native, began his journey at Mt. St. Joseph High School, where he was a standout athlete and student, excelling in both basketball and football. After graduating, he attended Towson University, earning All-American honors in football. His athletic prowess led him to play for the inaugural CFL team, the Baltimore Stallions, right after college.
Karl's professional career took off at Takeda Pharmaceuticals, where he dedicated over 17 years to selling Type 2 diabetes and weight loss products. In late October 2023, Karl founded MD Weight Loss, which has impressively grown to over 300 clients.
Karl’s passion for health and wellness is matched by his commitment to excellence and client satisfaction. His extensive experience in the pharmaceutical industry has provided him with invaluable insights and skills, making MD Weight Loss a trusted name in the field.

Tameka Thomas
Born and raised in Maryland, Tameka Thomas pursued her education at Baltimore County Community College and Coppin State University. She holds certifications in Medical Assisting and Phlebotomy/IV. With 24 years of experience in healthcare administration at Johns Hopkins, Tameka has worked alongside many prestigious doctors for over 15 years.
After being athletic in her earlier years, Tameka got married and raised a daughter. Balancing the roles of wife, mother, and career, along with facing health challenges, meant that taking care of herself was not always a top priority, leading to significant weight gain.
Tameka has since embarked on a personal weight loss journey, successfully losing and maintaining over 100 pounds for more than seven years. Her commitment to health and wellness is a testament to her dedication and perseverance. Tameka is dedicated to helping and motivating others to lose weight and maintain their weight loss.
